Thomas Reed, DPM - Biography
Dr. Reed is a board certified podiatric physician specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. He has practiced in the Woodlands/Conroe area for 20 years.
Dr. Reed grew up in Maryland and moved to the Woodlands to be near his brother, a general surgeon. He and his wife, Evangeline have been married for over 20 years, and they homeschool their five children. Dr. Reed enjoys a variety of sports activities including biking, running, swimming, and basketball. He also enjoys gardening, photography, and reading. The Reeds attend church in Magnolia and are very active in a Christian parenting ministry.
Dr. Reed served six years on the Board of Directors of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association. Five years were also served as the TPMA Hospital Committee Chairman which required him to function as liaison between Texas hospitals and the TPMA. He also served two years on the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons Special Task Force.
Dr. Reed has authored six manuscripts published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He has patents on several medical inventions refining traditional thought on several surgical procedures of the foot and ankle.
He is double board certified, an honor shared by only a few podiatrists in the Houston area. He is certified by both the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Medicine. He has lectured internationally about the use of surgical pins and screws made from freeze-dried bone instead of metal.
Dr. Reed's Christian faith extends to his medical practice. Dr. Reed and his staff pray for the physical and spiritual well-being of his patients each day. He will pray with those patients who ask, and he trusts that God will guide him as he makes the sometimes challenging decisions of medical care.
